When the bleeding is happening because of abortion pills, it is advisable to refrain from sexual activity.Check with your Gynaecologist before resuming sexual activity so that she can guide you regarding appropriate contraception to be used

-After taking pills for abortion, the bleeding will last for about 7-11 days
-Barrier contraception eg-condoms, diaphragms are safer methods that the lady can use till she resumes her normal cycle

-When a woman has taken pills for abortion, the bleeding may last from 6-11 days.
- Next normal menstrual cycle may also be a bit delayed.
-She is advised to wait till next normal menstrual cycle .
- She should then consult her Gynaecologist and adopt one of the many methods available for regular contraception

I have done abortion by pills. On my gynecologist’s advise I did a repeat sonography after the tablets course. It is showing that some products of the pregnancy are remaining. What should I do?

Answer

You should consult your Gynaecologist. Depending on a few factors  like the amount of pain or bleeding you are experiencing, she will suggest further treatment which may involve D&C- which is a cleaning procedure of uterus under anaesthesia
