Persistent trophoblastic disease-what is it

                                                               

A 24  year old resident of Khanda Colony,Panvel consulted Dr.Himani R Gupta,Gynecoloist & Obstetrician from Kharghar Navi Mumbai.

She took abortion pills but did not come for follow up.

Continued to have spotting per vaginum and her Beta HCG is still high at 150-110 units even after 2 months of taking pill.

She goes in the category of persistent gestational trophoblastic disease.

Management of this is very complex and requires Methotrexate
