Real Women- Real Experiences- 16.1.19 One about high cost of living in Metro City
A young woman of age 25 years, a resident of sector- 6, Kharghar,Navi Mumbai, came for consultation of early pregnancy.
She had a girl child who is 4 years old. She gave history of multiple MTP ( Medical Termination of Pregnancy ) as she was not ready to continue with these pregnancies.
This time the case was different and she was desirous of going ahead with child bearing.
The life situation was such that she could not leave her profession as a dance teacher, and her husband was not doing well in his work place.
Weighing the circumstances, the couple decided against continuation of pregnancy.
The point here is that living cost in a metro city is sky high which includes, rentals, education at a very exorbitant rates.
Life decisions are made based on that, and not on choices.
Financial well being takes an upper hand as compared to other factors.
Lack of family support also matters as people are no longer living in their ancestral homes.
There is no preaching or teaching happening here.
This is what it is.
Stark reality of life.
