Q1)Hi i had D&C about 2 months back since then i did not have periods. I was recently asked to to ultrasound which was normal endometrial thickness was 7 mm and no findings . Thyroid and prolactin was also in range . I did all these tests 14 days back and was asked to wait. Please let me know should i wait longer and what needs to be done ? I am so worried Thanks

A)Hi, there are many more hormones which may be imbalanced. A progesterone withdrawal can be tried. Please meet your Gynecologist again

Q2)I had my periods in June: from 26th-30th and in July: from 28th-1st august. Today is 31st and i haven't got my periods yet. My periods usually shift from one date to the other but i didn't even have sex, then why my periods aren't here yet? I'm worried.

A)The easiest way is to do a urine pregnancy test. That will confirm. If there is no pregnancy, periods will come

A woman visited to the clinic for unwanted pregnancy.
According to her, she had menstruated normally last month.
She had 2 living children , both born by LSCS

She was willing to take abortion pills and questioned us the need for ultrasound as according to her the pregnancy was very early.

We counselled her regarding safety protocols that we follow for every patient & she agreed.

Upon sonography, it was found to be a pregnancy of 8 weeks duration, she couldn't believe that.

A surgical MTP by D&E was done as medical abortion by tablet method is not safe when pregnancy is large.

The point here is that safety precautions are always followed at our clinic for each and every patient.

A difficult decision arose in a 33 year old woman, resident of Kharghar.

She was on treatment for PCOS, and trying to conceive.

A 40 year old woman, resident of Khandeshwar, Raigad district, a highly trained professional in teaching field, working in Panvel, underwent abortion by pills at an early gestation. Her family is already complete with two kids, both having been born by Caesarean delivery.
For some reason the couple has still not opted for permanent solution of birth control.
The husband is reluctant to undergo Vasectomy for unspecified reasons.
Wife is furious with husband for refusing the operation. In retaliation, she comments , why everything should happen on woman's body. Why can't man also take some responsibility on their body.
She has a point , I think.
But in this tug of war, already two unwanted pregnancies have come and gone. Whose body is suffering?
These days, Laparoscopic Tubal Ligation- permanent family planning operation of female has become technically so easy and safe and in most of the cases, the woman is discharged on the same day.

An unmarried couple, resident of Vashi, Sector-17, came seeking abortion tablets for early unwanted pregnancy.
After taking due care of doing an ultrasound, and signing of consent form,abortion pills were given.
The woman experienced very scanty bleeding after that.
To complete the procedure and to save hassle of Check curettage, anesthesia, another injection- Carboprost was given intramuscularly, which is a strong uterotonic.
Still there was no significant bleeding.
The woman in question had not told her parents about it.
Taking out a day to undergo a DNC was a challenge for her as well as gathering money for the procedure.
She was not ready to go to a Govt. set up
We decided to do a repeat ultrasound after one week of these pills.
Luckily, the transvaginal sonography did not show any gestational sac remaining.
She was saved from undergoing any extra procedure.

The mental trauma in these cases is much more than the physical suffering.
The questions keep on popping up and there is no definitive answer.

Prevention of unwanted pregnancy by using regular contraceptive method is the only solution.
